I have no reason to believe the item I received was bootleg or knock off. The box, the boots, everything seemed legitimate. I did receive a gloss when I ordered matte, but they were very attractive. There are reviews that warn about calf snugness. I considered this and ordered anyway because I've never had to wear wide leg/calf anything. I do have a calf muscle, however, and this was very, very snug around the top and ruined the smooth look of these boots. I strongly suspect that people who have had splits wore these boots snug and the pressure eventually split the seam. This item was made in China, which was disappointing considering the price. Alas, I do not have the stick legs of a supermodel and did not keep the item. If I had such legs, I would be loving my new boots.
